Easter Sampler

I am excited to share with you my latest design for spring. It is called "Easter Sampler" and is actually based on a little pinkeep I designed back in 2012. I just added to it a bit and changed the colors...hope you like it! The pattern is now available in my Etsy shop for those of you who like to stitch.

Spring is just around the corner but I think it has arrived a little early here in Southern California. My bulbs are already blooming, my nectarine tree is loaded with blossoms, and the weather has been very warm all week. I'm not quite ready for things to warm up just yet but guess this one is out of my control!!!

Welcome December

Somehow here we are at the start of a new month again...where oh where do these months go?!!  I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are looking forward to celebrating Christmas in just a few weeks. I can't believe that 2016 is just around the corner!

I want to share with you all my newest design called "Winter Homestead"...I hope you like it! The finished piece is available over on Early Work Mercantile for my update this month. I also have the paper pattern available in my Etsy shop for those of you who like to stitch.

Christmas Stitching

I hope you all had a great Halloween and are now ready to welcome November! Christmas will be here before you know it and while I am not one to rush past Thanksgiving, I have started to work on a few new cross stitch designs for Christmas.

"Belsnickel" is my first completed design of the season and I am really excited to share it with you here. I hope you like him! The paper pattern for "Belsnickel" is now available in my Etsy Shop for those of you who like to stitch. I think you will find him to be a fun and relaxing piece to work on :)

More Autumn Cross Stitch

I hope you all have been keeping cool during these last days of summer. We have been super hot here in California but I somehow managed to design two more autumn pillow tucks in spite of the heat. "Indian Corn" and "Autumn Acorns" are both available as patterns in my Etsy shop if you would like to stitch one (or both) for yourself.

The finished pieces are also now listed over on Early Work Mercantile where we are having a special Olde Harvest & Halloween Gathering this month. Happy August

I can't believe that August is here already! I'm not sure where this summer has gone but that's ok...Autumn is my favorite time of year and it will be here SOON! Because I am growing a little impatient for pumpkin time to finally arrive, I decided to work on some new pieces for fall in an effort to help speed things along. I think it might actually be working!

I do have one new design ready to show you but more will be coming in the next few weeks. This one is called "Witch's Night"...I hope you like it! It is available over on my Early Work update this month as a finished piece and is also available as a paper pattern in my Etsy shop. I'd be pleased to have you stop by and take a peek if you get the chance.

Garden Time

Happy April! I hope most of you are enjoying warmer days by now and will be out working in your gardens soon!!! With that in mind, I wanted to share my newest cross stitch pattern with you..."Garden Time".

I designed this little stitch with thoughts of sunny days, happy flowers, and chirping birds in mind...hope you like it! The paper pattern for "Garden Time"  is now available in my Etsy shop and the finished piece is available over on Early Work this month.

My Newest Design

I have been a little quiet on my blog lately and for that I must apologize. I'm still happily stitching away though so all is well. In fact, I have a new design and finish to share with you. It's called "Old Barn" and is my own original design. The finished pillow tuck is available over at Early Work Mercantile this month if you care to take a peek. I hope you like it!

I am also pleased to announce that I am now selling some of my designs as paper patterns. Many of you have encouraged me to do so and I can't thank you enough for your support. I don't have too many listed just yet but keep checking my Etsy shop to see when more become available.  "Old Barn" is ready now as are "Apple Harvest" and "Abigail Pryor Marking Sampler" from last year. This is a new and exciting venture for me and I am so happy to finally be able to share it with all of you.

Welcome December

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are now ready to welcome December. Christmas is just around the corner and so to celebrate, I decided to design two Christmas pillow tucks for my Early Work update this month. The first one is called "Merry Christmas 1870" and the second one is called "All Is Calm".  I hope you like them!

Happy October

October is my favorite month of the year and I am SO happy that it has finally arrived!!!  I love everything about this month but one of my very special things to do is to visit a beautiful little town about an hour from my home called Oak Glen. It is an enchanting place filled with tons of apple farms, freshly picked apples and cider donuts galore...yum!!!

Because I love apple season so much, I decided to design an apple themed pillow tuck for my Early Work update this month. It is called "Apple Harvest" and was so much fun to create. I am really enjoying designing these little pinkeeps and hope to offer some of them as patterns either later this year or early next year. I hope you like them, too.

Welcome July

Happy July! I just updated my Early Work Mercantile page with two new pillow tucks. The first one is a sweet new design by Country Rustic Primitives called "Toy Soldier Pillow Tuck". This one was SO much fun to stitch and I am really pleased with how it turned out.

The second piece is a little marking sampler pillow I created myself using 19th century alphabet motifs. It is called "Abigail Pryor Marking Sampler".  I don't really consider myself too much of a cross stitch designer but I love putting these little pillows together using old alphabet charts. I hope you like it!

Welcome June

I have really been enjoying working in my garden for the last couple of weeks and decided to stitch a couple of little garden pinkeeps/pillow tucks for my Early Work Mercantile update this month. The first one is a new Country Rustic Primitives design called "Bee Garden Pillow Tuck" and the second is a wonderful new design by Primitive Stitchin called "Birds and Bees Pillow Tuck". I love the beehives and red flowers on each one and am very pleased with how they turned out.  Both are stuffed with freshly dried lavender buds and oh do they smell heavenly! I hope you like them, too!!!

April Update On Early Work Mercantile

Happy April!!! I just updated my Early Work page with a couple of pinkeeps and wanted to share them with you here.

The first one is a little sampler design by Primitive Things called "Eliza Adams" and the second is a great design by Early Workings called "Edna Hagen". There are a lot of new artists on that site, so if you haven't visited lately, I invite you to stop by and check it out.

I think I am calming down from our recent earthquake here in Southern California but it definitely hasn't been easy! I am California born and raised so these things are no stranger to me but this one was a little closer to home in that the epicenter was very near where my kids went to high school. I am thankful that no one was injured but talk about frazzled nerves...yikes!!!

Welcome March

Happy March! Spring is just around the corner and so, in order to celebrate, I wanted to share my latest finish with you. It is a spring themed pinkeep that I stitched from a wonderful Early Workings design called "1801 Sarah W".  I love the colors in this one and am especially fond of those blue flowers...aren't they great??? This piece is available on my Early Work Mercantile page if you get the chance to take a peek.

We are finally getting some much needed rain here in California and I am enjoying every second of it! I know many of you have had your fill of rain and snow right about now but we are in a drought where I live and this rain is most definitely welcome. There is just nothing like stitching to the sound of raindrops...I love it!

Happy December

Welcome December! It's that magical time of year once more and I am so happy to know that Christmas is just around the corner! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that you are just as excited as I am for Christmas this year. My son will be home from Washington, D.C. to celebrate with us and that definitely makes me one happy Mom!!!  My daughter is still with me here in California so both of my kids will be home for Christmas...life is good!

Here are two Country Rustic Primitives pillow tucks I stitched this month for my Early Work Mercantile update. One is called "Peace To All This Christmas Pillow Tuck" and the other is called "Primitive Log Cabin Christmas Pillow Tuck". Hope you like them!

A Log Cabin Christmas

We are having "A Log Cabin Christmas" over at Early Work Mercantile this month so I wanted to tell you all about it here.  There are some wonderful offerings this time around made by some very talented artists...Hope you can stop by if you get the chance!

I stitched a couple of pinkeeps for the celebration and decided to turn them into Christmas ornaments. One is a design by Country Rustic Primitives called "Primitive Night Before Christmas Pinkeep" and the other is a simple marking sampler designed by With My Needle called "Quaker Pinkeep". These were fun to stitch (love that Santa!) but I still can't believe that Christmas is just around the corner!

On another note, I recently opened up a shop on Etsy which is something I have thought about doing for quite a while.  I have a few items listed but hope to have lots more in the weeks to come. There is a link to my shop on my right sidebar if you'd like to take a peek.

Happy October!!!

My favorite month of the year is finally here...yippee! Happy October everyone!!!  I've been in an autumn stitching kind of mood for quite some time now so wanted to share with you what I've been working on.

I always love stitching Country Rustic Primitive designs and this one is a particular favorite of mine.  It is called "Primitive Autumn Thyme Pinkeep" and is just perfect for the season at hand.

Another favorite design of mine is by Primitive Stitchin' and is called "Bountiful Harvest Pillow Tuck".

Lastly is a design by primitivebettys called "Thankful". I've stitched this one more than once...that turkey is just too awesome not to!

Olde Harvest And Halloween Gathering

I hope you are all having a great Labor Day Weekend! I just updated my Early Work Mercantile page for the month of September with a couple of Halloween pinkeeps and wanted to share them with you here. We are having an Olde Harvest And Halloween Gathering on Early Work this month, so if you get the chance, please stop by and check it out!

For my offerings this month, I stitched a couple of really fun patterns. One is by Stacy Nash called "A Haunting We Will Go Sawdust Pillow" and the other is a wonderful jack o'lantern design by Country Rustic Primitives called "Primitive Black Jack Cupboard Tuck".  I hope you like them!

 

It's hard to believe that Halloween will soon be here but I am so ready for it! Would you believe that I still have one surviving pumpkin from last year? I'm hoping he makes it through to Halloween...that will be a first!

Early Work Mercantile Update

Happy August! I just updated my Early Work Mercantile page with a cupboard hanger I stitched and wanted to share it with you here.  I adapted my little cupboard hanger from a pattern by Homespun Samplar called "The Marking Sampler" and am really pleased how it came out. I even managed to stitch one over one on half of this piece which is something I usually don't like to do but, this time, I actually had fun!

I hope you are all having a good summer. I have to confess that I am ready for autumn and have several Halloween samplers in the works. There's something about stitching pumpkins and witches that helps me keep cool :)
