Halloween Is Coming

Every August without fail I start to yearn for the cooler days of autumn. That yearning actually came a lot earlier this year when my first Halloween design for the season was finished way back in May! My little pumpkin witch has been waiting for a few months now to greet you all but here she finally is. Happy Harvest is available now in my Etsy shop as a PDF download or mailed paper pattern. I designed this one as a companion piece to my older Merry Halloween design...hope you like it!

Please stay safe everyone,
Sandy

Christmas In July

These two early style Santas are here just in time to help you celebrate Christmas in July! I actually meant to have this pattern published before the 4th but my daughter's computer had other plans and decided to have issues. Since she is the one who gets all of my patterns ready for publication I just had to be patient and wait for her computer to be repaired. That day finally came and so now I am able to share my latest design called Americana Santas, Two Holiday Pinkeeps. The pattern is now available in my Etsy shop where everything is 20% off until at least the end of July.

Thanks so much and happy stitching!

Two New Designs

Oh my...it's been a very long time since I posted on my blog! I am still here though and am happy to show you my two newest designs. The first is called Flowers For Sale and the second is called Fourth Of July Sampler. Both are available as PDF downloads in my Etsy shop just in case you'd like to stitch one (or both!) for yourself.

I hope you have all been staying well during this really stressful time. My stitching has helped me more than I can ever say and I am thankful every day for my needle and thread plus eyes that can still see to stitch.

Happy Stitching!

Sunflower Days

This happy little Garden Witch is already enjoying the warm days of summer and early autumn as she strolls among her beloved sunflowers. Sunflower Days is the name of my newest pattern and it is now available in my Etsy shop if you'd like to stitch one for yourself.

I hope this finds you all well. My daughter and I just got back from a spur of the moment trip to Alexandria, VA to visit my son and daughter-in-law. It was so wonderful to finally have all of my kids with me on Mother's Day...I am truly blessed.

Sarah Sykes Sampler

My Adaptation Of Sarah's Sampler

Sarah's Original Sampler Stitched in 1883

I am not sure how many people even read Blogger anymore but I will keep posting my latest chart releases here for as long as I can. I miss the good old days when Blogger was so much more active than it is now but I guess Facebook has taken its toll...sigh.

Anyway, here is my latest pattern called "Sarah Sykes Sampler". This one is adapted from an antique sampler I have in my personal collection...I really love how the colors are just perfect for spring. I made a few minor changes from the original but just enough to where it needed to be called an adaptation and not a reproduction. The pattern to stitch Sarah's sampler is now available in my Etsy shop...hope you like it!

Churn, Butter, Churn

I am excited to show you my first cross stitch design for 2018. It's called "Churn, Butter, Churn" and was inspired by an old churning rhyme that women used to sing while churning butter:

                   Churn, butter, churn
                   Come, butter, come.
                   A little bit of butter
                   Is better than none.

I think my Grandmother must have sung something like this as she grew up in a humble log cabin in the Ozarks of Missouri. I know she churned lots and lots of butter, too!!!

The pattern for "Churn, Butter, Churn" is now available in my Etsy shop. Thanks so much for looking...enjoy this beautiful Sunday afternoon!!!

Happy stitching,
Sandy

Merry Christmas

Only one more week until Christmas and I finally have a new pattern to show you. My vision seems to be slowing me down a lot more lately as a result of the eye surgery I had earlier in the year. Hopefully that will get better soon since the doctor says the swelling in my eye is finally starting to go down. Yippee!!!

"Merry Christmas" is the third design in my little series of Belsnickels and is now available in my Etsy shop as either a PDF file or mailed paper pattern. Hope you like it!!!

Merry Christmas!

Autumn Sampler

I am excited to show you my latest pattern release called "Autumn Sampler". I actually created this design back in 2011 for the Samplermakers Autumn Stitching Challenge. Our task was to design an autumn themed piece using at least two motifs that were graciously provided by Jennie Lynn Schmitt of Appleseed Prim. I chose to use Jennie Lynn's owl and crow motifs and also adapted her house motif to suit my design a little better. I decided to chart it this year after having several people ask about it...the pattern is now available in my Etsy shop if you'd like to stitch one for yourself.

And speaking of Samplermakers, how cool is it that just as I was working on this old piece from the original group, Lori Brechlin of Notforgotten Farm started a new Samplermakers group on Facebook. I am so happy to see it back and really credit that original autumn challenge way back then for starting me on my primitive designing journey. If you are one Facebook and love samplers, be sure and check it out.

Wishing you all a wonderful week filled with lots of happy stitches!

Wishing you all a beautiful day filled with whatever makes you smile :)

Happy To Be Back

Oh my goodness!!! I haven't posted on my blog for such a long time and for that I must apologize. It has been a challenging year to say the least. My Mom passed away late last March and as an only child, it was left to me to settle all of her affairs. I thankfully had family to help me as I am pretty sure I couldn't have done it without them...what an extremely difficult thing it was to do. And then late last June I had eye surgery to repair a macular hole in my left eye. I am still recovering from that one but my vision is getting better every day.

Happily I have finally started to stitch again after a year of hardly picking up my needle much at all. I am excited to show you a new design I just completed and have now listed in my Etsy Shop. It is called "Lucy Tucker's Gift" and is a sweet little sampler for all of you who love redwork. I hope you like it!

So happy to be back posting on my blog...I've missed you all!!!

Christmastime

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are looking forward to the upcoming Christmas season. I haven't had as much time as I'd like to create new designs as my Mom has had some health problems these past few months but I did manage to finish at least one. It is called "Christmastime" and I am really happy how it turned out. The pattern is now available in my Etsy shop if you'd like to stitch one for yourself.

Thanks so much!

Schoolhouse Sampler

I love visiting old one-room schoolhouses whenever I come across them and imagine that many of you do, too. My fascination with these wonderful old buildings inspired my most recent design called  "Schoolhouse Sampler". I hope you like it!

The pattern for this little sampler is available in my Etsy shop for those of you who might want to stitch one for yourself. I had a lot of fun designing this one and hope you will enjoy stitching it as well.

Happy stitching!
