I found the pattern in the 1988 book Traditional American Crafts published by Better Homes and Gardens and couldn't resist stitching it. The original piece was created by Nancy Agness McGlaughlin back in 1841 when she was just ten years old. Don't you just love those letter Ns all stitched backwards???
Happy stitching!
Sandy

Oh my what a beautiful sampler! Great colors and your work is so nice.
I love it. I wonder if I still have that book - need to search!
I love your sampler, too!! I must look for it... where, I don't know, but I'll be on the hunt.... Love the colors... and your framing is perfect!!!!
Sandy,
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! I have that book and only got as far as thinking about stitching the pattern. Your sampler turned out wonderful and you did a great job framing it too! After seeing yours I may have to stitch that one up.
Hugs, Lori
