Nine Patch Doll Quilt

I love the look of reproduction purple fabrics so decided to try my hand at making a little quilt with them. I did have to step out of my "comfort" zone to do it (muted browns and old blues and pinks are still my favorites) but sometimes, it just feels good to stir things up a bit! This little quilt measures about 11 inches by 16 inches and each block is three inches square. It is hand pieced and hand quilted and set on point with contrasting blocks of brownish red.

My sweet Burlap Owl doll loves her new quilt because she thinks it matches her dress pretty well...guess I'd have to agree!!!

Happy stitching!
Sandy

What a lovely little quilt. The reproduction purples really are quite nice, and it looks perfect with the dolly.

Sandy,
Your quilt is wonderful! It would be out of my box to use the purples too but I do have a few muted repro purples in my stash. I love the combination of colors you used. I agree, it does look nice with your dolly. Thanks for sharing.
Hugs, Lori

I just love your little nine patch quilt. I have always been fond of that design and especially of smalls. And what a great idea to have you doll hold onto it. I will have to remember that one :)

I love the little quilt - so cute and vintage-looking. I love repro fabrics too - I'm collecting but not doing anything with them (darn it)

Your quilt project reminds me of my childhood days. My grandmother has a quilt similar to yours. I even saw it in one of our cabinets here. The doll is so cute as well. If I will be provided with enough materials and knowledge, I will choose this for my project.
