Churn, Butter, Churn

I am excited to show you my first cross stitch design for 2018. It's called "Churn, Butter, Churn" and was inspired by an old churning rhyme that women used to sing while churning butter:

                   Churn, butter, churn
                   Come, butter, come.
                   A little bit of butter
                   Is better than none.

I think my Grandmother must have sung something like this as she grew up in a humble log cabin in the Ozarks of Missouri. I know she churned lots and lots of butter, too!!!

The pattern for "Churn, Butter, Churn" is now available in my Etsy shop. Thanks so much for looking...enjoy this beautiful Sunday afternoon!!!

Happy stitching,
Sandy

Butter Churns

I have always loved butter churns so couldn't resist stitching this wonderful pinkeep design by Pineberry Lane. It is called "Fancey Blackett & The Butter Churn". Don't you just love those sunflowers???

And since we're talking about butter churns I thought it would be fun to show you three that I own...the small one is missing some parts but I loved the color so much that I just couldn't pass it up. Although I have never used any of these churns to make butter, I do remember making some in a jar as a child, just before visiting a local dairy farm for one of my first grade field trips. Ah...memories!

I hope you all have been keeping well. Our weather today is beautiful with just a slight little breeze to keep things fresh. It's what I call a perfect Sunday :)

Happy stitching!
Sandy
