Nine Patch Doll Quilt

I just finished another little doll quilt...finally!!! I decided to make this one using blue and brown 19th century reproduction fabrics in the spirit of many old doll quilts that I've seen. The quilt measures just ten inches by nine inches and each little nine patch square is two inches. I pieced it and quilted it by hand...my favorite way to make a doll quilt!

Happy stitching!
Sandy

What a lovely little quilt, Sandy. I just love the blues and browns together. Will you display it on one of your doll beds? I'm sure it will look enchanting wherever it's displayed!

Thank you, ladies! I love the blues and browns together too so had a lot of fun putting this little quilt together. I'm not sure how I will display it yet. My two cradles are just a bit small so guess I'd better hit the antique stores and find one that is just right!

I found your blog researching my family history. I am also descended from Conrad and Noah Humble. Do you have more old photos from this family line that you could share, please?

Nice to meet you, Sharon! Unfortunately, I don't have any more old photos to share but sure wish I did. If you'd like to chat a little more about family history, please feel free to contact me at thehumblestitcher@gmail.com. I'd love to compare notes :)

Totally adorable! I love doll sized quilts the very best. And particularly when made from such beautiful reproduction fabrics.

Your little doll quilt is just adorable. The colors and reproduction fabrics you selected are perfect. Any little doll would love to have it placed on her bed! I agree with you---maybe a trip to the antique shop would be a good thing!

I love making doll quilts also---so much fun.

Thanks for sharing and I will look forward to seeing more and maybe a picture of a new "old" antique doll bed. :) Carolyn

Love your little doll quilt! I prefer to hand-piece and hand-quilt as well. Your pix of children are wonderful. I collect antique pix of children with their dolls. I see you beat me to some good ones! Your blog is fabulous. Thanks for joining mine too. Becky
