I have a special place in my heart for old doll quilts that look to have been made by a child. With that in mind, I decided to make a basic little four patch quilt that was inspired by those simple quilts of old. Mine is made from reproduction calicoes and is entirely pieced and quilted by hand. It measures about twelve inches by nine inches and each four patch block is three inches square.
I backed it with what is probably my favorite reproduction madder print of all time. Jo Morton designed it a few years ago for Andover Fabrics and I LOVE it! It is from the Jo's Calicoes line and is just wonderful.
I'm looking forward to a quiet night of stitching at home tonight so better get to it...my sampler awaits!
Happy stitching!
Sandy

I love to make naive little dolls quilts, too.
Very sweet little quilt. Love your blog! Thanks for sharing.
This is my first visit to your blog. I was entranced by the illustration in your header. The Old Lady in the Shoe sure has lots of stitching to do with all those children to care for!
