Rachael Hawkes Sampler

I finally finished stitching this wonderful sampler designed by Linda Gillon of Primitive Things and wanted to share it with you. The pattern is called "Rachael Hawkes" and is only one of many amazingly primitive samplers that Linda has to offer. I stitched mine on linen using cotton floss and really love how it turned out. This was my first of Linda's designs to try but it definitely won't be my last. After all, one can never have too many samplers in the house!!!

I hope everyone is keeping cool during all the heat that seems to be everywhere. Aren't these hot days of summer just perfect for staying inside and stitching???

I love this.

Having no patience for cross-stitch, I can only embroider. :~)

Lovely finish! I may have to stop over to Primitive Things and pick this pattern up! (not that I don't have 150 other things to work on!!)

I'm heading back to the most recent project I'm working on from the Sampler Girl, called Just Married, the Jane Austen Way -- it will be a gift to my daughter. Going to stay inside and stitch this hot day away -- as you said, it is the perfect time to do so!

Have a happy day!

Very nice finish - fabulous frame! I know my framer has nothing like this - the search is on so I don't have to make it myself!

Thanks, everyone, for your really sweet comments about my sampler. They mean a lot! And Marly...about the frame...I have a little bit of a confession to make. I found it at Aaron Brothers during their penny sale!!! That was one good shopping day :)

The sampler is most enchanting and I must agree with you that one can never have too many samplers!

What a beautiful sampler, you do amazing work. I recently purchased a very small framed sampler. The count is so small you have to use a magnifying glass to see the stitches. Can't imagine that someone did not treasure the work. I am thrilled to find your blog and just signed on as a Follower. Sugarland Quilts.com

No indeed, we can never have enough samplers! Love your rendition. That frame is perfect for it. So far I've done the two long band samplers by Linda. I have another pattern to do yet. I love the simplicity of her school girl samplers.
